A dog on the table, a cat in surgery.
The phone still gets answered.
Vets and nurses cannot leave an animal on the table to answer the phone, and the front desk is busy with owners and pets in the waiting room. rednea answers every call in seconds, books vaccinations and check-ups, takes orders and messages, and sends emergencies to your duty vet the way your protocol says.
What is rednea for veterinary clinics?
rednea is an AI phone assistant for veterinary clinics. It answers every call 24/7, books consultations, vaccinations and check-ups, takes structured messages and orders, and routes emergencies to your duty vet or emergency hospital per your protocol. It never gives veterinary advice.
Why the clinic phone rings out
Why pet owners cannot get through to their vet
Nobody can leave an animal to answer the phone
During a consultation, an X-ray or surgery, the vet and the nurse have their hands on the animal. The phone rings on, and the owner who wanted a vaccination appointment calls the next clinic.
Hands on the animal, not on the phone
The front desk is busy with the waiting room
Check-ins, payments, a nervous dog and a cat carrier on the counter: the person at reception serves the owners in front of them first. Routine calls about opening hours, food orders and results pile up.
Waiting room first, phone second
An emergency call must not wait behind routine ones
An owner whose dog has eaten something toxic cannot wait in a queue or leave a voicemail. If the emergency call does not reach the duty vet quickly, every minute counts against the animal.
Urgent calls behind routine ones
What changes
How rednea works in your clinic
Every call answered, every consultation undisturbed
rednea answers in parallel, so the phone never pulls a vet away from an animal. Owners get an appointment on the first call, also in the evening and at the weekend.
Vaccinations, check-ups and consultations, booked
rednea asks for the owner, the animal’s name, species and reason for the visit, and books the right appointment type with the right duration — vaccination, check-up, consultation or grooming if you offer it.
Practical answers, never veterinary advice
Opening hours, prices you publish, what to bring for a first visit, how to order the usual food: rednea answers the questions you approve. Symptoms, medication and doses always go to a vet.
Emergencies go where your protocol says
You decide what counts as an emergency and where it goes: a transfer to the duty vet, or the address and number of the 24-hour veterinary hospital you name. rednea applies the rule on every call.

How we set rednea up for your clinic
Services, team & greeting
We record your services (consultations, vaccinations, microchipping, surgery, dentistry, grooming), the species you treat, your vets, opening hours and your greeting.
Appointment types & orders
We set the appointment types and durations, and how food and medication orders are taken: as a structured message for your team to prepare and confirm.
Calendar & emergency protocol
Connection to Google Calendar or Microsoft 365, and to practice software via iCal or API on request. Then the emergency protocol: who is on duty, when to transfer, and which emergency hospital to name out of hours.
Test call & go-live
You call your own number and try the scenarios that matter: vaccination booking, food order, results question, emergency. Then you set call divert on your existing line. No number change.
Typical call scenarios
How rednea handles calls in a vet clinic
A vaccination booking during surgery hours
The right appointment type in one call, with the note to bring the vaccination record, in the wording you approved.
A dog that ate something toxic
No advice on the risk: the call is transferred to the duty vet, with the fallback your clinic configured.
A food order for collection
The order arrives as a structured message. Whether the prescription diet is still right stays the vet’s decision.
A question about lab results
rednea does not read or interpret results. It books the call with the vet, so the owner does not need to call again.
GDPR and transparent AI
Built for the trust owners place in their vet
Data processing agreement under GDPR
Owner data is processed under a data processing agreement (Article 28 GDPR), with encryption in transit and at rest and retention you set.
Storage in Switzerland
Persistent data is stored in Switzerland, a country with an EU adequacy decision. Transcripts are deleted on the schedule you set.
Recording is your switch
Call recording is on by default and can be switched off in the dashboard, taking effect on the next call. Transcripts and summaries are separate and keep working.
Clear limits, transparent AI
Your greeting can say from the first second that a digital assistant is answering. You write the greeting, and we suggest a wording that does this — the transparency Article 50 of the EU AI Act asks for. rednea gives no veterinary advice and creates no voice profiles.

Frequently asked
What vet clinics ask before using rednea
Does rednea give advice about symptoms or medication?
No. rednea answers only the practical questions you approve: hours, prices you publish, what to bring, how to order food. Questions about symptoms, doses or whether to bring the animal in go to a vet, as a transfer or a priority message.
What happens with emergency calls?
Exactly what your protocol says. During opening hours rednea can transfer emergencies to the vet on duty. Out of hours it gives the owner the details of the emergency service you name, such as your own duty line or a 24-hour veterinary hospital. Your team gets the call summary by email right after the call.
Can it book different appointment types?
Yes. Vaccinations, check-ups, consultations, post-operative checks or grooming each get their own duration and, if you want, their own vet. rednea asks for the animal’s name and species and books the right type.
Can owners order food or medication by phone?
rednea takes the order as a structured message: owner, animal, product and collection day. Your team prepares and confirms it. For prescription products, the vet decides; rednea does not approve any medication.
Can it tell owners their lab results?
No. Results are a vet’s conversation. rednea takes the request and books a call-back with the vet, so the owner does not need to call again.
Can rednea answer owners in other languages?
Yes. rednea detects the caller’s language and answers in English, Spanish, Catalan, French, German or Italian. An owner on holiday with their dog, or a resident who is more at ease in another language, books in their own language, and your team gets the same summary.
Does rednea work with our practice software?
rednea books through Google Calendar, Microsoft 365 and practice software via iCal or API on request. We confirm the integration path in the kick-off call.
What if an owner wants to speak to a person?
Your greeting can say so from the first second: you write it, and we suggest a wording that says a digital assistant is answering. An owner who wants a person is transferred if someone is free, or gets a call-back with the reason already noted.
How much does it cost, and how long does setup take?
From £90 per month with 300 minutes of call time, no setup fee and no minimum term. Setup takes about 30 minutes: we configure services, appointment types and the emergency protocol, connect the calendar, and you go live with call divert on your existing number.
